Massasoit Spring is a historic Warren landmark that honors Massasoit Ousamequin, Chief of the Pokanoket tribe until 1661. Located across from 81 Baker Street on the site of one of the reputed aboriginal villages, the monument was dedicated in 1907 and is maintained by the Massasoit Historical Association. Though the spring once flowed with water when the marker was first installed, it is now dry, leaving the monument itself as a quiet reminder of the area’s layered past.
