Step Inside Porto General Store
Located in the heart of Water Street, Porto General Store blends seamlessly into the charm and character that make Warren so special.
Founded by Warren resident Justin Silva, Porto is a modern general store inspired by history, thoughtful design, and community. After spending more than 15 years producing television in Los Angeles, Silva returned home to Warren with a vision: create a welcoming space filled with beautiful, useful goods that bring people together.
The name Porto—Portuguese for “port”—is a nod to both Silva’s heritage and Warren’s rich maritime history. It’s a fitting choice for a town shaped by the water, where creativity, craftsmanship, and connection continue to thrive.
Inside, visitors will discover a carefully curated collection of products from Rhode Island and New England makers, alongside independent brands from across the country and abroad. Every item has been chosen with intention, celebrating quality, function, and everyday joy.
But Porto is about more than what's on the shelves.
Set within a historic building that once served as a neighborhood market in the early 1900s, the space preserves many of its original details. The result is a warm, soulful atmosphere that invites visitors to slow down and connect—whether they’re grabbing a coffee, picking up pantry staples, or searching for the perfect gift.
For Silva, opening Porto in Warren is a full-circle moment. His family has been connected to the town for nearly three decades, making the store a meaningful way to contribute to the community that helped shape him.
And what does he love about Warren?
Its walkable streets. Its connection to the water. Its creative energy. Its unmistakable character.
There’s something magnetic about Warren that can’t quite be explained—only experienced. Porto General Store captures that feeling beautifully.
The next time you’re exploring downtown Warren, stop by Porto General Store and discover a space designed to feel familiar from the moment you walk through the door. Because some places aren’t just shops—they become part of the fabric of a town.
