South Burial Ground is a historic garden-style cemetery in Warren, incorporated in 1840 and spread across seven acres. Its original entrance on Franklin Street remains part of the site’s story, with some 19th-century iron fencing still standing. The cemetery is laid out with nine avenues named after letters and continues to accept burials. It is also the resting place of notable figures including Warren artist Henry Newell Cady and Rhode Island Governor Thomas Goodwin Turner, adding to its quiet local significance.
